Teams to identify human resources in all states

The Ministry of Health and Population has deputed officials to identify and enlist employees required for preventing, control and treatment of COVID-19 in all seven States.
At a regular news conference organized at the Ministry on Monday, Spokesperson Dr Bikas Devkota said that teams have been deputed to identify the strength of human resources in the states and submit a report on it within three days. “We have asked the teams to submit the report with recommendations on the required number of employees in all seven states to prevent and control the coronavirus,” Devkota said.

The employees have been deputed to coordinate with private and inter-government hospitals if there is lack of human resources and to increase the number of human resources by appointing employees on a contract basis or volunteers, he added.

He shared information that sample of people who arrived Kathmandu from abroad until the month of Chaitra would be tested in coordination with local levels in the Valley.
Sample would be collected and tested with the help of Epidemiology and Infectious Disease Division, Nepal Army and Armed Police Force, stated Spokesperson Devkota.
Similarly, 10 ambulances—four from Health Ministry, five from National Ambulance Service and one from Kathmandu Metropolitan City have been kept in ready position for COVID-19.

He urged all to stay few more days in quarantine as COVID-19 was also seen positive even after 14 days.
Dr Devkota said rapid tests of all who arrived in Kailali, Kanchanpur and Baglung from abroad would be carried out from Tuesday. Sample of 1,697 people has been tested so far, he added.

The Ministry Spokesperson said sample is being tested in Dhulikhel, Bharatpur and Bhairahawa from Monday. Twelve people in Kathmandu Valley and 95 people out of Kathmandu Valley are in isolation.

A total of 9,167 people stayed in quarantine so far, he said, adding the Ministry has been carrying out contact tracing of relatives and friends of the eight COVID-19 infected people.
Dr Devkota said that 1,291 people underwent self-testing using the mobile app and ministry’s website on Monday itself and of them, five are in red zone.

Likewise, the monitoring carried out by a team under the leadership of Nepal Medical Council at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Patan Academy of Health Sciences, Bir Hospital, Trauma Centre, and Kathmandu Medical College was also reviewed, he said.
