Hundreds of Nepali citizens have been contacting the embassy daily through various channels asking when the flight to Nepal will open and go to Nepal.

Initially, the corona virus was found in the citizens who went to Nepal by air. It is well known that the Government of Nepal has suspended all regular international flights for the first week of May to control airborne infections. After analyzing the overall state of the transition, the Government of Nepal will decide on international flights. The embassy is also requested to inform everyone through appropriate channels.

President Message- 5th Earthquake Day

Kathmandu, April 24 (RSS):

President Bidya Devi Bhandari has paid tributes to those who lost their lives in the 2015 earthquake and also wished for the easy life of those injured in the disaster.

In a message today on the 5th memorial day of the 2015 Gorkha earthquake, the President said that we have done an exemplary work in the rescue, relief and rehabilitation as well as the reconstruction of devastated structures in and aftermath of the April 2015 earthquake.

"We had shown an unprecedented unity in relieving tens of thousands people who were terrified and rendered homeless due to the tremor and waves of aftershocks of the earthquake. We should continue the good culture of unity we demonstrated in the crisis", reads the message. "I would like to thank all who directly or indirectly extended support round the clock without considering any pain during the crisis brought about by natural disaster", the President noted.

Stating that structures damaged by the 2015 earthquake including educational institutions and health institutions, heritages, bridges, roads, drinking water projects and security agencies have been reconstructed, she has appreciated all who helped and engaged in the reconstruction.

There is need to reduce risks by building disaster-resilient physical infrastructures and human settlements in view of the country being vulnerable to natural disasters like earthquake, flooding and landslips. "Awareness and preparedness are needed to deal with disasters in an effective way. I hope that learning from the post-quake rescue, relief distribution and reconstruction would help us come up with plans to move forward the campaign of safe Nepal and reduce risks in the future," adds the message.
